Where to Begin?

Hello,

I’m an Applescript newbie and I’m wondering where I should start. What I want to do is drop and drag to a terminal command, then out through Quicktime Pro, converting at each step. So, I know I need to simple and probably advanced stuff. I just don’t want to bother everyone with stupid questions every step of the way.
