Run Photoshop commands hidden/minimized/background

Hey all!

This is my first post here! Whoo! Great to be here :stuck_out_tongue:

So, I’ve made a folder action with Applescript that opens and edits a JPG in Photoshop. Then exports it to another folder for a slideshow. This slideshow runs fullscreen.

Now my question is:
Can Photoshop do all its commands in the background/hidden?
Now it goes on-top, over the slideshow. Even if I hide the program before opening the slideshow.

Alas, no.

Hmm, bummer. Maybe if I attach a second monitor.
Run Photoshop on screen 1
Run Slideshow on screen 2

Is Photoshop required? Image events can do some basic tasks (resizing, flipping, rotating and changing image type) and when run it seems like the task is done in the background (image events is an background application). Also there are tons of command line tools available to edit jpeg files or you can use python (accessing by using do shell script command)
