IPTC file info?

Does anyone know of a way to script editing the IPTC file info for say a jpg, without using Photoshop or Graphic converter? I really need a low cost solution that will allow me to script the changing of the IPTC file information. :?:

I haven’t used it but you could try the perl script at the following link.

http://www.danheller.com/tools/iptc.tar.gz

This is supposed to embed and extract the IPTC info from the command line.
