applescript faxing

I cannot seem to find any info on writing an applescript to send a fax from os x’s built in fax function (via the print dialog box).

Any help would be appreciated.

I don’t know. You’d think there’d be some system fax request object. I guess you could do it with UI scripting. I use the fax command with do shell script. (man fax in Terminal.) You have to save the file as postscript first, though.

From what app are you faxing?

I’m specifically interesting in faxing out of Illustrator.

OK, well Illustrator will save as postscript, so do shell script fax should work fine for you.
