I am writing an Applescript to download printer driver components from an FTP server and install them in the proper directories on OS X. I am using URL Access to accomplish this. The name of the directory I want to download is “SplashPDE.plugin”.
I am encountering an Applescript error that reads “URL Access Scripting got an error: Extension failure”. I believe the reason for this error is the length of the file name extension “.plugin”. This extension is, I assume, required by the printer software, so I don’t want to change it.
My question is - Is there a way to work around this error?
