mail.app photos import to iphoto

I have been trying to do my second automator script without luck.

Basically I need a script to import photos from selected message(s) in mail.app into iPhoto. That’s it

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you

Model: iBook
Browser: Safari 412
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.4)

The current version of Mail does not expose message attachments in the scripting dictionary, therefore there’s no way to “see” and retrieve the attached image. Sorry :frowning:

I was looking for that same action. Here is what I did:

  1. Created a folder in my Pictures folder called “Mail2iPhoto”
Whenever I get an email w/ Pics attached, I just click the save button next to the attachment and it saves to that folder automatically after setting it the first time.

  2. Create workflow:
Get Specified Finder Items > Specify Mail2iPhoto folder
    Get Folder Contents
Import Photos into iPhoto > Click checkbox for “Delete the Source Images After Importing Them”

Its an extra mouse click or 2 but it works for me…

Boy do I feel stupid,
The save button in Mail 2.0 has an Add to iPhoto option…I just never bothered to hold it down.
