iTunes Script Slow When Run From System Script Menu

I’ve searched the forum, and haven’t found a mention of this.

I’m using OS X 10.4.1 Tiger. I have a script I’ve used in iTunes for a long time that handles a couple of large lists, and I’ve optimized it to be as fast as possible (made lists object properties). When I run the script from the iTunes script menu, it will complete in a couple of seconds depending on the size of the playlist. I wanted to try out using the system-wide script menu for all my scripts. When I run this script from the system-wide script menu it takes about 45 seconds to run!

I’ve tested it several times using the same playlist when running the script from the iTunes script menu and the system-wide script menu with the same results. The system-wide menu runs the script ridiculously slow compared to the iTunes script menu. When I launch the script from other script launching apps, it runs as fast as it does in iTunes. It’s only the system-wide script menu that runs it so slow.

Any ideas why this is or how to fix it?

Thanks
