An error of type -10960 has occurred.

Hi,

Using display dialog, as in

display dialog "Hello World"

I receive the following error message: “An error of type -10960 has occurred.”

I cannot find any documentation about this situation. Can you tell me what’s going on and how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

it looks like a terminology clash with a scripting addition you have added
or a corrupted /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/StandardAdditions.osax

Thanks, that put me on the right track.

I discovered that I had two versions of the standardadditions.osax between my system’s and user’s libraries (the user’s library one dating back to 2004, and probably incompatible!). A good cleaning of the outdated and duplicate osax in the scripting additions folders resolved the issue.
