AppleScript-Like Scripting on Windows

I’m considering a move to Windows because Apple no longer makes computers I want to buy. Are there any scripting languages for controlling objects on Windows that equal the power of Applescript?

Hey Nigel,

It’s been ages since I’ve used Windows (2009?), but I’ve always been very impressed with AutoHotKey.

It was never what I’d call particularly user-friendly, but jeez was it powerful – and free. I expect it’s grown more than a little in the last decade plus.

I think Microsoft bought the most powerful 3rd party automation tool for Windows and turned it into a subscription service, but I don’t keep up with that stuff anymore.
