AppleScript to auto-enter serial numbers

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to create an AppleScript that will enter a programs serial number automaticlly so I do not have to type it in each time. EXAMPLE: To enter the serial number of Suitcase after it has been installed on a new system. In OS 9 I had written a script using the AUTO-TYPE scripting addition but since OS X this scripting addition has not been updated.
