apply changes to more than one XML file

hi all,
I am trying to apply chanegs to more than 50 XML files in a script. I am not a good script writer, I am hoping for some help.
the idea is to add 2 to 3 lines of xml markup after the tag . There is only one tag in each XML files.

Any suggestion, ideas would help.

The two best ways to do that would to either use Text Item Delimiters or the shell command sed.

Both methods are covered although for a slightly different application. This should give you some ideas to hit the ground running and then we can help ya long the journey.
