Autorefresh color labels on server

We have a servervolume with subfolders on our server where we put in PDF documents. Server users asign a colorlabel to this PDF document. Everynight an Automater script runs on this volume and picks out the documents that have a colour label. The problem is that when an serveruser assings a colourlabel the server doesn’t automaticly update the files for it self. When the script runs not every file is picked out.

Can somebody help me how to automaticly update the files in this subvolume and subfolders. by Applescript, Automator or Folder actions.

Are all the users using the same label names? That could be a reason if you are asking the server to

get items whose label is "something"

and they are labeling it “something else.”

10.4 added a new method to do metadata (were color label are stored). People have reported your problem in 10.4 thur 10.4.5. But my xServe has 10.4.8 seem to work fine. But people say it works for a while then the problem starts.
Something about a new file _.filename. Go back to 10.3 or do all updates. Can you do your method by modification date and/or spotlight comments.

Admin of this site won’t like this comment but maybe a root user can get access to all _.filename metadata files. Where does the script run? on the server? or a client machine? try on the server if not.
