Bounds of selected text in Acrobat

I’ve been searching through this forum as well as the Acrobat dictionary (Acrobat Professional 8 and 9) for a way to get the bounds of the highlight or selected text of the current PDF with very little luck. I’m wondering if anyone else has an idea of how I might go about getting that info.

btw, I’m not opposed to using JavaScript embedded in my Applescript if it will allow me to get the bounds of my current selection. I’ve been searching for hours on this and I’m stuck.
