Hello since i know enough to make a simple and original application. I thought i should try. I just have one small pothole though. I know how to get all the running applications i just cant figure out how to put all the running applications names into a dropdown menu. Can someone help me with this?

This code will do what you want (update the element names as necessary):

In the future, when posting, it would be helpful if your subject line was more specific to your problem.

The script doesnt work. DId you mean put it in xcod (pproject builder) or script editor. I never know how to start posts. It really bugs me. Ill be more specific.

M4E, the code does work. You posted to the AppleScript Studio forum and said you knew how to make an application so I posted code to be used in an AppleScript Studio application (in either Xcode or Project Builder). I assumed you understood that this snippet needed to be included in a handler such as an “on will finish launching”, “on launched”, or “on awake from nib” or attached to a button via an “on clicked” handler. If you just wanted this in a regular AppleScript, you’d just write (in the Script Editor):

Sometimes the way people write posts on this board really irks me. You could have written, “I can’t get this code to work, where do I put it?” instead of the way you posted it suggesting that the code itself was faulty. You ask for help, you get it, then you malign the help. I don’t understand that.
