change the computers Date and Time to an preselected value

I’m looking for a Script to change the computers Date and Time to an preselected value:
e.g. date 10 sept 2005 time 1:23:45
Can anyone help me?

Hi,

thanks a lot !
I tried to use the script, but it seems I can’t embedd shells, cause there’s an error after “do shell…” which says: “expected end of line but found identifier”

I forgot to say: I use a very old scripter from end 2001 and - ok I know - vintage OS 9
Perhaps I have to edit the whole script in an other way ?

If you are scripting for Mac OS 9 and not Mac OS X, then you shouldn’t be asking your question in the AppleScript | OS X forum. Perhaps someone else has an answer that works for pre-X scripting.
