Great forum. I am definately a “newbie” to scripting so excuse my lack of correct terminology.
I need a script that will check a folder of pdf files for fonts that are not embedded and generate a list of the filenames.
We have a customer that sends in thousands of pdfs and we do not find the font errors until they are printing. As you can imagine, checking every pdf is extremely time consuming.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Yes. I run a preflight in acrobat before printing all jobs, except this one, because of the large quantity of pdfs. Because the embedding issue is sporadic, we usually just wait for them to fail at the rip and fix them. But this last batch is unusual and I’ve already fixed about 300 files.
From Acrobat’s Pre-Flight you are able to create your own sets of conditions and include moving files to ‘pass’ and ‘failed’ locations. Once you have built and saved a set of conditions you can then create a droplet. This is pretty much a self contained app with this you can drag n drop whole bunches of files or you can have a script tell ‘finder’ to open the files ‘using’ the droplet app. The droplet does all the moving and creating of any reports.
