check for USB drive folder action

Hi

i was using a neat ‘check for disk’ function in automator which invoke a folder action to copy files to the desktop.

it works on osx 10.4

but it won’t install on 10.6.3

how do i get it to work on 10.6.3? or is there an alternative?

Hi, skipzone.

I recently found that action and had the same problem, but I found the solution: If you open the contents of the installer you will find the action and you can add it to your Automator just double clicking it. I’ve tested it and it works.

Have you considered using instead a folder action attached to “/Volumes”?

P.S. I know the original question is more than 4 months old, but maybe someone else will have the same problem and will end up here as I did (and discover MacScripter! :D)

Thanks Antonio all these things help us make progress! It is annoying when the osx shifts and the clever little automations need to be rewritten. often it takes days to find a solution. regards Pete
