Command to run an AppleScript

Is it possible, to anyones knowledge, to cause an AppleScript to be activated when the user presses a certain command? For example, if the Finder is active and the user presses COMMAND-L, it runs a certain AppleScript. Ignore, for simplicity, the possibility that there would be a conflict (ie, setting it to run on COMMAND-N when that’s already used to open a new window).

There are several utilities to do it. Check, for example, iKey

That works perfectly, jj! Thank you so much!

As an aside: iKey traps keys before they make it to the application level, so you can override any default shortcut key. I have the New Folder command overladi by a script that is much more powerful. (Email me if you are interested.)
