Convert .DOC to .PDF

I’m a little embarassed, I haven’t coded in AppleScript before, but I think it’s exactly what I need for my solution.

I’m trying to create a program that, with the input of a word document, will export a PDF of the same name, in the same directory as the original, then delete the original .DOC.

It sounds simple but I really don’t know where to get started.

Any help, guidance or suggestions are appreciated

there is already a program which is able to do that: Pages.app

Haha, thanks. I have Pages, I’m just looking for an automated solution.

I have word and it’d be fine for the program to open Word then print it, btu I really want it to do all the work for me.

Pages is fairly scriptable, you can automate the process to convert the files
