I have recently completed a simple application that allows me to output a fax proof sheet from a laser printer instead of filling it out by hand. It is quicker than doing it by hand AND the customer can actually READ it (my hand-writing is not very good any more. 20+ years of typing virtually everything can do that). I showed my boss and he loved it. However, he would like the ability to save the form to disk and call it up later.
My question: is it easier to simply grab the contents of the dozen or so text boxes and write that info out to text files using vanilla applescript
–OR–
convert my existing non-document-based studio app to a document-based studio app and use the data representation routines?
I don’t know what needs to be done to convert a non-doc-based app to a doc-based app. I’m sure if anyone does know, they can be found on this site. I’m certainly open to suggestions here.
Thanks in advance,
