Data driven graphics with imageready

I’m new to scripting photoshop and would like to create a data driven graphic in imageready which acts as a template and reads a data source (xml, mysql or whatever) to create mutiple versions of the same image in a number of languages.(only the text layers need to be changed) I’m not sure where to start. it seems like the data sets function in imageready only works by supplying alternate text each variable at a time which will defeat the purpose of doing it.

Does anyone have any experience with this or something similar that i can learn from?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Blowing my own trumpet, but I think that iMagine might do what you want.

I have also been working on a mysql interface for applescript that could well help you with the data side of this. I am hoping to release an update to the mysql4AppleScript interface tomorrow which is a considerable improvement over the previous release.
