Disk Open - Do something script

Hey I am burning a Data disk with Toast Titanium 9 and I want to know if it is possible to make a disk auto-open itself then run a(n) applescript. If it is possible then how do i do it?

Thanks,

Model: Power Mac PPC
AppleScript: AppleScript 1.10.7
Browser: Safari 531.9
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.4)

It’s entirely possible to create a disk that automatically opens its window (although I don’t know how you do it in Toast since I only ever use the Finder, which makes this kind of thing a breeze).

However, you can’t automatically run an AppleScript when the disk is mounted. That’s the same as the Windows security nightmare known as autorun.inf which was co-opted by various malware authors to automatically install their wares as soon as their disk was mounted. Bad idea.

You can do it locally by attaching a folder action script to your /Volumes directory - this will run whenever a new volume is mounted and your script can do anything you like on your own machine, but there’s no way to propagate that filth^H^H^H^H auto-run action to other people’s machines.

Ok thanks - just a little new to this kind if thing
