Display dialog in login items

I’m fairly new to applescript editor, but I’m catching on. There is one issue that I haven’t been able to figure out yet. I want to put an applescript (saved as an application) containing a display dialog into login items. The script runs flawlessly on its own, but not in login items. Even the simplest script with a display dialog won’t seem to work. The script will show up in the dock and bounce, but won’t open until I click on it (in the dock). Can anyone assist me with this?

Thanks,

Model: MacBook Pro
AppleScript: 2.3 (118)
Browser: Safari 533.19.4
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.6)

Basically you’re saying that the applescript isn’t the frontmost application so you don’t see the dialog. As such you can make your app become the frontmost app by telling it to activate just like you would for any other application. Try this…

tell me
	activate
	display dialog "whatever"
end tell

That worked. I knew it had to be something simple. Thank you very much!

You’re welcome. Good luck.
