Is there a way to turn off desktop mirroring using an applescript? I have a script that will open a movie full screen from within a powerpoint presentation… the only problem is that powerpoint turns on mirroring as soon as the script begins to run. I would like to turn it back off at the end of the script.

I can tell you that the result is stored in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist “mirrored”. Unless you want to pursue changing that, however, you’ll have to use GUI scripting to get at the checkbox in the displays preference pane.
