Where do I go to find out what error codes mean. For example “-48”

Not all error numbers are easily identifiable as many of them belong to the applications being scripted. Error number -48, though is an operating system error: “Duplicate file name.” There’s probably a file or folder of the same name in the folder to which you’re trying to move or save something.
There’s apparently a new AppleScript Language Guide coming out soon; but the current one’s still on-line and shows some common operating system, apple event, application scripting, and AppleScript error numbers.
