File comments not preserved during sync

I am using AS to include some info in the Finder Comments (Get Info window, editable field called ‘Comments’). These files are sync between my two Macs (work → home) using Dropbox or iCloud, depending if there are located in my desktop (iCloud sync) or in some other folders (Dropbox sync).
But I just realised that in Mojave those comments are lost when files are copied into my Home Mac, while are still present in my Mac at work.
This was not occurring before the update to Mojave. (I am starting to hate Mojave …)

  1. have you experience that?
  2. which alternative I have to link some additional info (usually less than 20 chars) to a file?
