I am wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the Filemaker dictionary? I’ve upgraded to Panther and re-installed Filemaker. The Script Editor does not see Filemaker as a scriptable application. When I drag the Filemaker application icon onto Script Editor to look at the dictionary, it says that Filemaker is not scriptable. Scripting still works though.
Is FileMaker the only affected app?
I have also found a problem with Tex-Edit Plus, Preview, AppleWorks 6, and Eudora. There may be others.
This is some strange behavior. AppleWorks shows up in the Open Dictionary pane and then I can view the dictionary. But if I drag the application and drop it on the Script Editor icon (another way to open the dictionary) is claims that it is not scriptable. The other apps, Tex-Edit, Preview, and Eudora do not show up in the Open Dictionary pane.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would first restart the computer to see if the problem goes away. If that doesn’t help, I would download Smile or Script Debugger (demo) to see if the problem is general or limited to Script Editor.

Hmmm… Not sure, but I’d say that all apps you mentioned are bundles OS-9 compatible? (just a tip)
Could you try Photoshop or Freehand?
Any special environment (eg, localized system)?
Photoshop does not have this problem.
I have tried this on someone elses computer and it has the same problem. This problem only happens when you drag the application to the Script Editor icon. I have found that if you Open Dictionary, then browse to Filemaker or the other apps that have this problem you CAN open the dictionary.
