Filemaker resources

Hello-
I was wonderng if anyone had recommendations for any resources, books or web, that would be helpful to a relative newcomer to AS that would like to learn how to script Filemaker Pro. Thanks in advance!!

There is a really good reference right in your FileMaker application directory. Pre-FileMaker 7 installations should contain a directory, “FileMaker and Apple Events”; FileMaker 7 and later have a directory “Apple Events” in “English Extras”.
Matt Neuburg’s book, “Applescript: the Definitive Guide” is my personal favorite, however I’m not willing to get into an argument about whose book is best. They all outline the basics.
This forum is absolutely awesome when you have a problem. There are some incredibly helpful people that participate here. You can also check http://forum.filemakermagazine.com/ and http://www.filemakertoday.com/com/index.php
Are you comfortable with FileMaker’s scripting? I ask because the biggest weakness when writing an Applescript for FileMaker is the time it takes to retreive and send data to FileMaker. Apple events are slow. You’re better off if you can send one big chunk of data and then parse it apart with a FileMaker script.

Thanks for the references - both look to be just what I’m looking for. I’d have to agree with your recommendation for Neuburg’s book - I found quite a bit in there too.
