Our Situation…
We are in the process of upgrading, rearranging, cleaning out.
We have an external 18 Gig drive that contains several thousand photos all catagorized numerically… all photos have a “c-” in front of the SKU number. Some have ranges… for instance “c-545-8547/6574”.
We need to get rid of the “c-”
Before we move all of the files to our new equipment… we would like to nuke any NON Numerical Digit in all the file names, replace the “c-” with a zero, and limit filenames to 8 digits. So the example above would become 05458547.
Does Applescript have this type of batch sequence capability, or is anyone aware of software designed to do this (executing commands to change a filename, then moving on to the next file)?
The files reside in folders nested one folder level on 8 partitions.

Drop¢Rename lets you rename a file, search for words, letters or symbols and replace them with whatever you want and in different orders in the text string. It’ll batch process hundreds of filenames too and search through nested folders for files that require renaming.
