Finder Advanced Prefs...

Hi there,

In the Finder menu under Preferences>Advanced there’s the option ‘Show all file extensions’.
I’ve been trying to locate where this pref is stored in order to check how it’s set however as yet I’ve had no luck.
I’ve been looking in com.apple.finder.plist.

Please can someone point me in the right direction.

Hi Nick,

better look into the Finder’s dictionary, it’s scriptable :wink:

tell application "Finder" to display dialog (all name extensions showing of Finder preferences as text)

Thanks for your reply Stefan, I’d had a look in the dictionary before I went trawling through plists.
Looks like I was searching in the wrong place! :confused:
