Folder Action to Password a folder

Hi all,
I’m new to the list and I have a small project that is getting the better of me. Let me explain in a little more detail. I would like to have a script written so that when a user clicks to open a folder, they would be prompted to supply the admin password. If the password is incorrect or unknown, then I would like the folder to close. This Mac resides in a prepress enviroment that can have various people using it at any time of the day or night (the mac is set to boot up already logged in). It had to be set up this way due to the large amount of software loaded on it (the permission thing was too mind boggling). I tried setting up multi-users but I couldn’t get all the app’s to run for all the users. We run everything from Quark 6 (known permission thingie, but fixable), Indesign 3, Suitcase X1, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office, (some run in Native and some run in Classic mode). I have currently about 90-100 applications on this Mac not counting any Utilities. Is this do-able? I hope this isn’t too wordy, so thanks in advance for your time to read all this.

I’m not sure if this script will help, but it’s a Folder Action Script that was rewritten by Dave Hall fo Mac OS X. There is also a version for Mac OS 9 and earlier.

Thanks Greg,
That’s exactly what I was looking for!
