Folder Size AppleScript

For I don’t know the reason, my Startup Folder doesn’t launch every time. I tried to restart my computer without extensions on to see if it was a conflict problem … but it still misses once in a while.

Is there a way to have Apple Script launch a script on startup other than by putting it in the Startup Folder ?? IDO SCRIPT SCHEDULER doesn’t have a feature on startup: it will do it once at a specific time or on an interval.

I have been looking for an AppleScript that would do the following…

When you click on a folder it will get the folder size and if it is 4 GBs or larger it will display a message that tells the size of the folder.

The reason for this is so I can backup a folder to DVD when it goes over 4 GB.

I haven’t found any sample code for this and I am not AppleScript saavy enough to create one from scratch.

Any help would be appreciated.
