(Force) eject a server desktop icon after lost connection...

For some reason, MacOSX seems to keep polling mounted server icons even if they are inactive.
This results in delays, pizza boxes and some slight frustration.
(imagine the day that you could run away with your powerbook and return in the office next week, without worrying about servers…)

In the meantime, is there a way to use Applescript to (force) eject orphaned/disconnected server icons from the desktop without polls and checks…?

I keep this in my dock cause when finder goes its not fun im always swaping interfaces and forgeting about the mounted volumes this is the best way i have found to quickly get control over finder again.

do shell script "killall Finder"
