HELP! Changing the time

Hi,
I am very new to Applescript. I was wondering if there is a way to change the time of day through apple script. For an example, If I wanted to set the clock back by 30 minutes, how would I do this?
I am using Tiger, on a macbook pro…if that is useful information.

Not trivial. In the Date & Time preference pane, “set date & time automatically” must first be unchecked which requires scripting the GUI, and then the time is set using the shell function date

What is it you want to accomplish? How is setting the time back useful?
