Help on deleting a folders contents on ALL volumes...

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me in deleting the contents of a hidden folder on ALL volumes without specifying the names of the various different volumes (i.e. just tell it to do it on all volumes, I want it to work on all people’s systems), for example to delete the contents of the folder HFSExtenttables. Is this possible?

Perhaps there is a way of putting the results in a string, and performing a command (e.g. delete the contents)?

You can try this to list all volumes and look for the specified folder. If the folder exists, do something with it:

–Open this script in a new Script Editor window.

set the_volumes to list disks
set the_folder to “:.HFSExtenttables:” –set this to the name of the folder (if it is invisible, it probably has a period before it)
repeat with this_volume in the_volumes
try
set this_folder to (this_volume & the_folder) as alias
–do something with this_folder if it is found
end try
end repeat
