As part of my job I refurbish MacBooks and so I frequently have to use a testing program. I usually install directly from the memory stick as the pkg file but for the sake of sparing time how can I automate this procedure? I tried automator, but it doesn’t allow me to access the clipboard to enter the serial number during installation, or the password. It also seems to be inconsistent with mouse movements. So, how can I automate the installation of a pkg (which is stored on a memory stick) using AppleScript? Thanks.
What software?
Anything with it’s own serial-number system is unlikely to automate entirely.
But look at installer
in the Terminal:
man installer
Also look at pbcopy
.
