Icons on Debug and Release Low Res

I just made some code changes to a few of my projects and noticed the icons do not look as sharp are they once were. I have a before release version and it looks sharp. I did not change the icons but simply rebuilt the debug and release files. Anyone else seeing this or did I happen to change something to make them do this. They look good inside the app on dialogs but not in the finder or dock. I didn’t update Xcode or anything. Using version 4.6.

Hi,

an icon file (.icns) contains multiple representations of the image in different sizes.
The operating system uses always the best representation for a specific purpose.
In a later version of Lion (10.7.4 ?) Apple introduced high resolution graphics with a maximum icon size of 1024 x 1024 pixel.
Check your icons for their maximum size. You might add representations with higher resolution

Strangely a reboot of computer made the icons look the way they use to. Updating the icns files to include larger sizes made them look even better. The latest version of Icon Composer seems only to go up to 512 x 512. What are people using to create larger sizes or do they just make them manually?

Thanks!!
