Illustrator (CS4) ignore lost linked file

Hi,
I am munging Illustrator files, some of which have misplaced or lost linked files.
Has anyone a way of getting the dialog to either ignore (best) of cancel?
I need get out of the damned dialog!!!
I’ve tried

tell application "System Events" to click at {1103,487}

even doing it twice to focus on the dialog—and it is the right location: I’ve checked with XScope.
and

tell application "System Events" to keystroke "." using command down

of course

tell application "System Events" to keystroke return

works, but that’s obviously not what I want (it just brings up the repair dialog).
any help would be appreciated.

This is in CS4.

I’ve also tried turning on Assistive Devices in System Prefs, but the ‘can’t find links’ dialog doesn’t have a title and I don’t seem to be able to get at it using ‘Window 1’ or the like.
