Illustrator CS5 missing links

Wondering if anybody has come accross this. I have a script that will open illustrator documents and get the image names for missing images and relink them to images with the same name in a different folder then the image file path is referring to. This works great as long as the image is not a JPG. When it is a jpg, I can’t seem to get the image name or the path if it is missing.

Any ideas?

Through error or design, Adobe has caused this to not work as it previously did under CS. File path is now read-only and is useless when a file’s link goes missing. I’m not aware of a workaround.
