illustrator expanding and expanding appearance

does anyone know if there is way to expand and fill pattern or expand the appearance of a brush without using GUI scripting ?

No direct command for it, unfortunately.

One workaround is to save the command as an action, and call the action with “do script”. I know that’s not ideal, considering that the master script may be expected to run on machines where the action does not (yet) exist… We use that method on our machines since we control the environment.

thanks for the tip :slight_smile: unfortunately I can already do these things using GUI scripting and was trying to see if there was a way to achieve the same goal using dictionary terms.
