Indesign multilayout document export

Hello,

I’m totally new to applescript but I realize how much time it could save me.

I work in Indesign and I’m looking for a script that will allow me to export my different layouts/pages to either PDF or jpg with different settings. For example, my inDesign document will have maybe 8 pages all different sizes. Page 1, a 11x17" Poster; Page 2, a 8.5x11" Flyer; Page 3 a web slide; Page 4, a large poster for a printer.

So can I export Page 1 to a specific “Posters” folder renamed as “docname-poster.pdf” using an already set up PDF Preset.
Page 2 to a specific “Flyers” folder renamed as “docname-flyer.pdf” using an already set up PDF Preset.
Page 3 to a specific “Web Slides” folder renamed as “docname-webslide.jpg” as a JPEG. etc etc?

Here’s a little bit of code to start you off.


set docPDF to ((path to desktop) & "myFilename.pdf" as text)

tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2015"
	activate
	
	tell PDF export preferences
		--set page range to "1"
		--set page range to "2-3"
		set page range to "1,4"
	end tell
	
	tell active document
		export format PDF type to docPDF using "The-Required-Export-Preset"
	end tell
	
end tell
