Indesign - Remove unused styles

Hi,

I’m looking for a way to remove unused styles (both paragraph and character) in Indesign.

I can delete styles, but there seems to be no (direct) way to determine wether or not a style is in use.

Manually (in the styles window) it is possible to select “all Unused”, so there must be a property somewhere to check for usage of a style, but I can’t find it in Applescript.

It’s probably possible to moniter the result of a search routine and act upon the outcome, but it seems terribly inefficient compared to just asking for a “used” or “unused” property of a style.

Thanks in advance for any input.

It’s CS 1 (sorry for the omission)

Hi

I will sure try it.

But there is a good feature in InDesign CS for delete all unused styles both caharacter as well as paragraph.

You can do it like, go to style pallet, and select all unused styels and click to the trash.

Thanks
