Is it possible to give a specific AppleScript a hotkey?

just like the title asks…Is it possible to give a specific AppleScript a hotkey?
and if so, how?

I have QuicKeys (QK) and trigger my script thru that right now, but not everyone in my office has QKs but they could definetly make use of this script. I essentially need to find a way to trigger the script without having to use QK or other software that wouldnt be included on a OSX. So, maybe automator? or just directly from AppleScript? or something i dont know. I’m open to ideas!

Thanks!

Model: Machine Name: Power Mac G5, Machine Model: PowerMac11,2, CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (1.0)
AppleScript: Version 2.1.1 (81)
Browser: Safari 419.3
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.4)

It’s not possible to directly make a hot key without additional software.

The closest I have gotten to this is if you put your script in the applescript menu (in the finder or in a specific application) you can use the system preferences/keyboard&mouse/keyboard shortcuts to create a keystroke to trigger it. It only works for something in a menu, and it has to be set up on each computer, so that may not be feasible for what you describe.

Can I assign a keyboard shortcut to an AppleScript?
