I have written a script to print an InDesign document one page at a time to a printer. It works like a champ, but I would really like to be able to control the name of the job that shows up in the Print Center (like ‘foo_page1.indd’ instead of just ‘foo.indd’). In the InDesign dictionary there’s an option to set an alias for ‘print file’, but the documentation says it is used when saving a file to disk.
So have any of you come across a way to change the default name that InDesign sends to the Print Center? The only other thing I can think of is to print each page to file then dump them to a printer. But this seems like one step too many.
