My apologies for posting this here, but I don’t see this option anywhere or a feedback link. I think it would be helpful if there was a way to mark a thread as “Answered” That way it would save a lot of reading through posts to see if a slolution has been offered. Similar to the way Apple does it on their forums… just a thought
Thanks
Chris
I believe the answer is no. This and similar ideas have been mentioned before though.
If you (or anyone else) have any more feedback, then feel free to e-mail me.
I think it’s a bad idea. Apple Discssions implemented it, and it’s definitely not helped. Scenario:
“Can you help me?”
“Sure, here’s the solution.”
[marked as answered]
“Wait, no, you didn’t blah blah or take into account blah blah.”
But no one’s reading now. Why? The original poster marked it as answered, but see, the poster was in the dark to begin with, so he or she isn’t really capable of definitively calling it “answered” without enough input. That input tends to come after the point where most people mark things as answered.
Thnaks for the responses… I guess there are pro’s and cons to both methods, I think my question was motivated only by my personal time that I feel like I waste when I read through posts that ulitmately seem answered at the end That said - “answered” can be somewhat subjective, but I think the original poster should have an ability to mark a his/her own post as answered…it is their post after all.
In any case - this is a fantastic site, and has helped me immensly over the years, Bruce - we appreciate all the hard work!
Thanks
Chris
