Is there a way to run an applescript in mail upon startup of mail?
If not, is there a way to run an applescript within any application?
How do you do it?

Hi bonedoc,

The general answer to this is that it’s much easier to get the Applescript to open the application rather than the other way around.

Can you be more specific about what you want done when Mail.app opens?

Take a look at “Do Something When” .
I use it.
It can run an “AppleScript” application when “Mail” launches.

Model: Mac G4 Mirror Door
Browser: Safari 312.3.3
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I want ed to run this application I made, but dont want the icon in the dock or desktop. Any ideas?

Look at “Drop Script Backgrounder”

http://www.sentman.com/backgrounder/

Note, whenever you “edit” the script/application it will not be “background only”.
Your will have to rerun “Drop Script Backgrounder” on it again !
