Making Gimp Aware

I have Gimp (a program similar to Photoshop) running on my Mac, It is open source and the sourcecode can be changed and manipulated. My question is:
Is there a relatively easy way to make these types of programs applescript aware (access to the menubar menus), or recordable so that batch processing can be done?

A relatively easy way? No, but try ScriptFu. If you don’t do python or perl, there are lots of samples you can adjust to your needs.
