Menubar items (the right side)

Hi everyone! Wow it’s been a while since I last posted… So here I am again, trying to develop some code… and this time I’m interested in adding buttons or things to the menu bar, on the right side (next to airport status, time, spotlight, etc.)

Found this topic searching BBS but the “get menu bar items of menu bar 1” didn’t work… throws an error.

I downloaded some open source apps that do these things but couldn’t find where it is they do the magic… check this site if interested.

Anyway, if anyone knows something about how to do this, I’d be very grateful.

Model: MacBook Pro 15"
AppleScript: 1.10.7
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.6
Operating System: Mac OS X (10.4)

Icon in menubar - a working solution

Aha… hehe… it seems I’ll have to learn Cocoa then… I was hoping to avoid that!

Just to be sure… All I want is to load an icon (with some image) and have it behave as a button, not a menu, that will link to an applescript (Studio app) … is that possible?

Case not… any good tutorial going around? Terminology doesn’t seem as simple and sweet as AS…
