Need a batch add users apple script for Tiger Server Open Directory

Hi

Can anyone help to get an Apple Script created for performing the function of “batch add users” in the Open Directory on 10.4 Server?

We have about 500+ users that need to be created on the server and we’d like to avoid doing it one at a time. :slight_smile:

We have the list of users in a spreadsheet which can be exported to CSV format.

While this probably could be done with GUI scripting, WGM does not have its own dictionary, I would not recommend it. Aside from the possibility of many things possibly going wrong there is already a command line tool to import[create] Users and Groups. Check pages 119 and 120 of the Mac OS X Server 10.4+: Command-Line Administration Guide for information on the dsimport utility and Character-Delimited User Import Files.
