I had been using a custom icon on one particular applescript “Application” which continually changed every time I edited the application. So I foolishly edited (Resedit} the icon for that application not realizing I would change all the icons of applescript applications to the new icon. Can somebody please email me a “pict” file of the original icon for an applescript “Application” Luckily the script & droplet icons remained unchanged.
Thankx
Paul
I think your worry is unfounded. I create ‘-16455’ sets all the time, often working on them in ResEdit. I also use a little applet/droplet that goes to ResEdit for me to save me doing it by hand every time I tweak something in the code - the applet removing BNDL, FREF, etc, etc - all the things I used to do manually. I also have a few apps where I have my own creator id and BNDL, etc.
None of this messing about should cause problems. Why don’t you just re-create the desktop files? Surely to goodness that will fix it for you. Do you know what you did to cause this problem-which-probably-isn’t-a-problem?
I seriously suggest you try the desktop files before you make matters worse by what you seem to be suggesting. Don’t panic!

After posting that I see that you have already answered my question. I still think a re-creation of the DT files should be all that’s needed. All you did was to mess with a copy of the generic icon in your app - you didn’t mess with the place from where your app got it’s copy of the generic icon - the AS software.

Why the silence, Paul? Has the status quo been restored?
